Some studies show that playing video games can change how our brains perform, and even their structure. For example, playing video games affects our attention, and studies found that gamers show improvements in several types of attention, such as sustained attention or selective attention.

Violent video games get blamed very often for people behaving very aggressively in real life. But a new study claims that there is no clear link between the two.  They found that, while people who played video games as a child were more likely to get into fights as an adult, gaming could not be pinpointed as the cause. While the data show that fighting later in life is related to playing video games as an adolescent, most of this is because, relative to females, males both play games more often and fight more often,’ said Dr Michael Ward from the University of Texas Arlington, who authored the study.

Video game development is among the fastest evolving forms of human expression ever devised. It is hard for us to imagine the experiences that games developed over just the next few decades will provide,’ Dr Ward said. A study of 17,000 teenagers in Canada, Germany, Japan and the USA found there was a link between aggression and video game violence.

Too much of anything can be bad. There has been a particular study of people playing Mario 64 for 30 minutes a day, for over 2 months, and those people had increased gray matter in areas associated with memory, strategic planning, and fine motor skills. Action games can increase attention to detail. 5-10 hour a week of action games can help you to solve problems more quickly.

We can not work or pay attention of time from playing too many

People have specialized in jobs to help people that play too much. Video games are really obsessive. Some children play up to 12 hours a day. This can be distracting from school work and home work.

Tameem Antonaids and Paul Fletcher have created a sailing game that reads your pulse. As your heart rate increases, the in-game sea becomes more stormy, slowing down your progress. “People compete on how quickly they can slow their heart rate,” says Antoniades.

Some pros of video games are that they can increase gray matter of the brain in places such as memory, strategic planning, and fine motor skills such as cutting, gluing, and pasting. Also your attention to detail is increased vastly.  And you can keep track of more moving objects, even if those objects start out a different color and then switch to the same one . Studies show that action gamers can keep track of more objects at once. Action gamers can keep track of 6 to 7 things at once while the average person can only keep track of 3 to 4 things at a time.

Some cons of video games are that they can be very addictive.  People can get more aggressive and get into fights more too. Your attention is totally corrupted when you are playing video games. You will be focused on your game. You will ignore your parents sometimes and then keep playing. You will not do anything else and your parents will sometimes have to force you of the video games.
