   Vin Skullies Last Game

     Dodgers have recently won the National League West on September 25, 2016. It was a close game with the game ending with a score of 3-4 Dodgers. The game had ended off with Charlie Culberson hitting a walk off solo home run with two outs in the bottom of the tenth. That game was very important because if the Dodgers win they would win the National League West, but also it was Vin Skullies final game.

The game had started off with the Cristhian Adames of the Rockies on first then Dustin Garneau of the rockies hitting a double scoring in Adames of the Rockies to make the score 1-0 Rockies in the top of the second inning. The next at bat Charlie Blackmon of the Rockies hit a sacrifice pop up to the outfield, Dustin Garneau of the Rockies scored from second after the hit to make the score 2-0 Rockies. Later that inning with Kowie Hendricks of the Dodgers on third, Yasiel Puig of the Dodgers up to bat. Yasiel Puig hits a sacrifice pop fly to the center fielder to score Kowie Hendricks of the Dodgers to make the score 2-1 Rockies. Later in the game with it being 2-1 Rockies in the bottom of the seventh, Corey Seager of the Dodgers hit a triple to score Justin Turner of the Dodgers to make the score 2-2. In the last inning of the game Kenley Jansen of the Dodgers let hit David Dahl a solo home run of the Rockies to make the score 3-2 Rockies. In the bottom of the ninth with two outs, Corey Seager of the Dodgers hit a solo homerun to make the score 3-3 tied. With the game 3-3 tied till the bottom of the tenth Charlie Culberson of the Dodgers hit a walkoff solo home run to win the game and the National League West.

One of the reason this game was so important was that if they won they would win the National League West, but also it was Vin Skullies last game. Vin Scully has been the Los Angeles Dodgers announcer for 67 years. On September 25, 2016 was his last home game as a Los Angeles Dodgers announcer. Many of the players on the field before their at bat would take off their helmet and raise it to Vin Scully in the announcer’s box. After the game he had a couple of words to say about all of the support and memories that he has spent with the fans and especially the players.
