Disney’s New Moneymaker

Live-action movies are becoming world-famous today, especially the people in them. This includes stars such as the one and only Hermione Granger herself, Emma Watson!  But what exactly are live-action movies? Live-action movies are a remake of Disney classics, but instead of being animated they use real people and CGI (computer generated energy).  Why did Disney make live-action movies? Are they going to continue making them? Are they as popular as they seem? Well, I have all the answers. As we all know, Disney is definitely one of the most world-famous entertainment company, and millions of people love their creations, especially the most recent movies. I don’t know if you have noticed, but they stopped making as many animated movies as they have in the past. Now, they create live-action movies; but why?

The main reason Disney decided to make these great movies is because they wanted to make the big bucks. Disney wanted more than their usual 5 billion dollars a year, which is a lot!  When the first live-action film came out in 1996, which was a remake of 101 Dalmatians, the audience’s age range varied for all families, and they began to make the money amount increase. This made Disney want to recreate everyone’s favorite animated classics such as Lion King, Peter Pan, Aladdin, and more. It takes more than just modern day form movies to get views, according to D23 they say in order to create one of these movies, “… It has to be a story worth telling.”  With that, it made Disney realize that more people would watch the production. From that day until now Disney is going to continue making these eye catching films.

$36,219,178.08, thats a lot of money! Believe it or not, that is the amount Disney makes a day! In fact, a ton of that money comes from live-action films in box offices. Now, like I had said, these are wildly popular now, and have been getting remarkable reviews. Are they as good as the animated versions according to audiences? In fact, the 2017 version of Beauty and the Beast starring Emma Watson got a 71% rating, while the 1991 original animated got a 93% rating. Already beating the original animated version within weeks, the new live-action one reached $395,459,842!  I believe this was due to the rumors spreading around the world years before the film even came out that they were making a remake.

Now, there is no stopping Disney. They will be continuing the live-action movies, with 2018 being packed with them.  The film that will first be produced is “Mulan” that will be in theaters on November 2, 2018. The one following that will be “Marry Poppins Returns”  in which we will see it in theaters Christmas Day 2018! There are many movies to see and many movies to come.

I personally love these movies and i would rather see them rather than the animated ones.I think it was a really great idea to make a creation as such. They have become world famous and really popular. Live-action was made to make great money, and Disney succeeded at that.  They also got great reviews, even though they didn’t quite beat the animated versions for some of the films, with the progress they had made, these movies were a success!
